WHAT IS A MEDICAL PEDICURE?
A medical pedicure, also known as a “medi-pedi”, is a non-invasive treatment that focuses on the hygienic and aesthetic care of the toenails and soles of the feet. We offer this service by itself or in combination with other pedicures at Oblique Beauty House.
After a full assessment of your feet and nails, our trained podiatry nail technician performs a dry procedure that combines podiatry with nail care. Unlike nail salons, our technician is trained to examine the feet and toenails using advanced equipment and tools, under the strictest hygiene protocols.
Medical Pedicures are an excellent alternative for diabetic patients, arthritis sufferers, runners, athletes, performers, professionals on their feet all day, and anyone with other concerns about their feet. The service addresses unsightly and uncomfortable conditions such as:
- Athlete’s foot
- Dry, cracked heels
- Ingrown/overgrown toenails
- Nail discolouration
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A MEDICAL PEDICURE?
After the safe removal of corns, calluses, and hard, dry skin, we follow with a routine pedicure where toenails are shaped, buffed, and cut. The cuticle treatment is then applied followed by deep exfoliation and a mini foot massage.
The treatment leaves your feet looking and feeling healthy, attractive, and revitalised. The procedure is performed on a dry foot to ensure exceptionally long-lasting results and uses a range of professional foot products to suit the patient’s skin type.
THE BENEFITS OF A MEDICAL PEDICURE?
Medical pedicures are beneficial for countless reasons. We’re talking about the overall health of the feet and well-being benefits. We’ve collected several benefits of medi-pedi that show why this treatment leaves you feeling great as well as looking fabulous.
We don’t know about you, but for us, medical pedicures are our time to relax and let our minds go blank. During this time, you can let your stresses go and focus on the relaxation of the massage. Being stress-free for an hour or so out of your day can do wonders for your mental health. Not to mention that having clean, soft, polished feet will increase your happiness levels, which in turn positively affects your mental well-being.
Your therapist is trained to find problems in your feet if there are any. This could include ingrown toenails, infections, bunions, and corns. Ingrown toenails could lead to infection, so it’s best to know sooner rather than later if you have any problems like these. Flagging these problems gives you the chance to fix them and stop them developing further.
By getting a regular medical pedicure, you can decrease the risk of infections you might get otherwise. During a medi-pedi, your pedicurist will remove the dirt – and the bacteria that comes with it – out from under your nail with a pointed tool. This is done to prevent those nasty infections like athlete’s foot, paronychia, and cellulitis. Just washing them in the shower sometimes isn’t enough to prevent these infections, you need to go to a professional.
The massage portion of the pedicure is focused on giving you relief and circulating your blood flow in those areas. The therapist will start by massaging your feet, then make her way up to your ankles, and then finally the calves. It’s very important to keep the blood flowing nicely through these areas.
Exfoliating the feet helps to get rid of unwanted bacteria and hard spots. By shedding the dead skin on the bottoms of your feet, they’ll be smoother to the touch and smelling fresh. Exfoliating the feet also helps to prevent corns from forming. It can also promote healthy blood circulation.
You can combine a cosmetic and normal pedicure with a medical pedicure. We advise you to get a medi-pedi a few times a year and a classical, cosmetic pedicure every month. in order to upkeep.
After getting any pedicures at Oblique Beauty House, your feet will look and feel their best! This is the time to wear those holiday sandals or heels that you wanted to show off. Your feet will look and feel silky smooth. Not to mention, your nails will look beautiful with whatever colour you chose.
With all of these health benefits, what’s stopping you from getting your next pedicure right away?
