Moxi is a non-ablative fractional laser developed by Sciton to renew the surface of the skin. It places microscopic treatment zones in a fine, even pattern across the skin, leaving the skin between them intact. The body repairs each zone naturally, replacing tired cells with fresh, healthy skin, and the complexion emerges brighter, smoother and more even.
Sciton designed Moxi as a preventative treatment: a way of caring for skin that has begun to show the effects of time and sun before those effects settle in. It addresses uneven tone, early pigmentation, a loss of radiance and rough texture.

Because Moxi is suitable for all skin types and can be performed in any season, it lends itself to long-term skin maintenance, continued through summer with daily mineral sunscreen.
At Oblique House of Aesthetics, Moxi sits alongside BBL HEROic, Sciton’s BroadBand Light treatment, and the two complement one another: BBL HEROic addresses pigment and redness, and Moxi refines texture and tone. Treatment step-by-step

(1) CONSULTATION
Your treatment begins with a consultation with one of our aesthetic specialists. Together you will discuss your skin concerns, medical history and the result you would like to achieve. Your specialist will create a personalised plan, covering the number of sessions, the timeline and your pre- and post-treatment care, and confirm whether Moxi should be combined with BBL HEROic. Photographs are usually taken before treatment and once the skin has healed.
(2) BEFORE TREATMENT
Please avoid sun exposure, sunbeds and self-tan for two weeks before treatment. Pause retinoids, exfoliating acids and other active skincare for five to seven days beforehand, as these can increase sensitivity. If you have a history of cold sores, please let us know in advance, as preventative care may be advised. Continue any prescribed medication and discuss it with your specialist at consultation.
(3) DURING TREATMENT
Your skin is cleansed and a topical numbing cream is applied 30 to 45 minutes before treatment; cooling air may also be used to keep you comfortable. Your specialist then glides the Moxi handpiece across the skin in a series of even passes. You will feel a slight warming sensation as the laser works. Treatment of the face itself takes around 8 to 10 minutes, and settings can be adjusted at any point for your comfort.
(4) AFTER TREATMENT
The day after treatment, your skin may look red, and tiny treated dots may be visible where the laser was applied. Over the next few days these darken and feel slightly rough, then shed between days three and five to reveal fresh skin beneath. Wash the skin morning and night with a gentle cleanser, keep it well moisturised, and apply a mineral sunscreen every day while staying out of the sun. Let the treated skin shed naturally, and avoid exfoliants, retinoids and acids for at least one week. Please refrain from saunas, steam rooms and strenuous exercise for 48 hours. Make-up can be worn 24 hours after treatment.
